ICCAUA2027 is proud to announce that the German University in Cairo (GUC), Egypt, will organise ICCAUA2027-Egypt, held in parallel with Istanbul Aydın University, Türkiye, and CIAUD.UBI — Centre for Research in Architecture, Urbanism and Design at the University of Beira Interior (UBI), Portugal. ICCAUA2027 is an international conference organised simultaneously in Egypt and in Türkiye, with parallel sessions across its partner institutions.

About the Conference

ICCAUA2027 will feature both in-person and online sessions, bringing together scholars, researchers, professionals, and practitioners to explore contemporary theories, manifestos, methodologies, and emerging approaches in architecture, urbanism, and the built environment. The conference seeks to deepen understanding of the evolving future of architecture and urban planning while encouraging international and interdisciplinary academic exchange.

Aim of the Conference

The conference aims to build a strong bridge between theory and practice in the built environment by presenting the latest research findings, innovative approaches, design strategies, and methodological developments for creating, assessing, transforming, and understanding contemporary built environments. Through the close collaboration of its partner institutions, ICCAUA2027 will provide an international platform for advancing knowledge, exchanging perspectives, and developing new responses to the complex architectural and urban challenges of the contemporary world.

Scope of the Conference

The scope of the conference includes peer-reviewed original research articles, case studies, technical reports, reviews, analyses, short communications, and notes to the editor. Scholars, practitioners, professionals, researchers, and policymakers across disciplines — including Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, and Art — are welcome to contribute. The conference will only publish research of the highest quality and impact. Table 3 summarises the accepted types of contribution and the disciplines addressed.

Peer Review and Paper Selection:

The paper selection will be carried out during the peer review process as well as at the conference presentation stage.
